Waterbase any advice?

Hi lads,

I have a small touch up to do on a car. I know the car was painted with waterbased.
So I am wondering any advice for a newbie?

PITA. unless you need to, or are set up to. Dont go there. Std COB blended in is easier.

the touch up is tiny about 5 cm by 3 cm, really nothing big and I have the paint so I might as well use it.

I heard it is not easy to use, that why advice are welcome.

For the setup, I am waiting on delivery of my new toy not going for concours work really it is for me only just to avoid rust.

then if you already have the base coat, yes use it. you are aware you will have to clear coat it?

I was actually thinking what else could I need, I have no experience with waterbased.
So should I use an activator like in 2K? I suppose if I need to thin more I just need to add some water, is that right?

you see that how bad I am in water paint world, no clue.

best find out what brand , its special reducer to thin it not water

to dry the basecoat blow on it with the spray gun at half trigger until it looks dry

No activator needed for it, and the thinner is an alchohol/distilled watery type thing I think. Dig out the data sheet and see what it says about thinning.
Spray the first coats very thin/misted, if you go too wet and heavy it goes horrible. Dry each stage, a hairdryer will do for a small area. Don't go mad and get it all too hot though. One handy thing is there's no time window for clearcoating it.

The WB is ok but the clear 2K would harm you. By the way you don't put hardener in basecoat whether it be solvent or waterbase
