What's the use of an air filter that doesn't catch the stuff it's meant to! Of coarse it's going to last longer if nothing sticks to it, I always thought that was the sole purpose



Now if someone made a mobile that didn't suck up every metal particle in your pocket, and clog the speaker....

If the bits that fall off can be collected then the filter won't clog as quickly and it will last longer.

Reading a few other news articles on the same research is a bit more realistic. They talk about it more as a treatment for clothing, or materials that need to go longer between cleaning like sails, seats, etc.

Does remind me of the 1950's Alec Guinness film, 'The Man in the White Suit' though!

Waterproof smart phones,camera's,electronics to me the applications for the technology is as interesting as the science itself,could it stop rust on steel?,how could the technology be used industrially on electrics,outside motors and electrics etc...
