I did say the T that i would cope with £200-£250 for the gelcoat/topcoat

I wasnt far off.

If my maths are correct that is.

20 foot cruiser = 40sqm x 3 coats at 650grm per sqm = 75kg, AND £300 ex a resin spray gun.

MMmmmmm i must be bloody mad

Oh not to forget a shed full of DA sheets to polish it all up and weeks and weeks of time, i love my wife soooo much

regarding your idea of a car pump, how about sticking a vacuum cleaner in there (plenty of air) pipe out side tape the door shut then go round with soapy water and a paint brush

All a wast of time if the hull layup is not DRY old glass & water are a real headache blasting the jell coat off it is one way then allowing the glass mat to dry out before re coating takes time, been there done it never again on a 34 ft sail boat with a friend, a box of matches was suggested by another owner who had already done it. (not the matches )

I have a gelcoat spray gun you can borrow if you want to go that route, but you will need some serious fume extraction filtering kit to stop the styrene fumes getting to the neighbours

Sounds like using an Epoxy is better than a Gelcoat now. I will think on it more.

Good poi t is that i can do the spray/paint work what ever in a workshop so no upsetting neighbours
