washing machine not draining

as in the title . i cant see a filter are these old ones just take thw pump off?

i thought i would.check impellar isnt blocked

its a GB made hotpoint
any ideas?

If there is no flap along the bottom front of the machine then it will be a pump off But before you do that to remove the water that;s in the machine, get a washing up bowl and place it on the floor. Then take the drain hose out of the u stand or remove from the connection on your sink (which ever you have) then put the end of drain hose into the bowl. gravity will allow the water to drain (not all of it though). If you are feeling brave wipe the end of the drain hose and blow through it, this may dislodge any crap sticking the pump. Things that can block/stop a pump, hair grips, coins, baby girl socks they turn in to spaghetti.
The hoses from the drim down to the drain pump is usually held on by one of thoses strong spring type clips (not usually a jubilee clip) so a pair of water pliers are best for that.

aye scooped water out. the filter is at thr 90 degree pipe that comes out off drum . so atleast pump didnt need out.

i doesnt have a flap at front. ahe is not a young machine.

hopfully she is good now. just running a cycle whilst wstching the tt.

money didnt kill it. the motor is fried.

second hand white goods are cheap i am no the market . i am not payiing few hundred quid for a machine

must be atleast 20yrs old

When our machine wasn't spinning fast it was the motor brushes, cost about £10 and a couple of hours dismantling and reassembling.

found the pump . i was going to have a look. you two beat me to it .i will get one ordered. if it doesnt works. oh well

the change i found i the machine will almost psy for the pump haha

Our washing machine normally dies a few days before Christmas.

Last one was some valve thing which cost less than twenty quid.

But, a two week wait, meant a new machine was inevitable.
