Warranty job?

Found this yesterday while doing the front brake discs and pads and checking the brake fluid level.

Split in the intercooler hose ( just on the top left under the one covered in oil)
The car came back from an unrelated recall with a check list meantioning very worn from pads and discs ( they were!)
What's the general consensus on a split hose being covered on a car still within the 5 year manufacturer's warranty?

Should be covered by the warranty.
Probably an expensive part to buy as well so would be worth claiming for!

That's providing it is an actuall 5yr warranty rather than a 1yr manufacture plus an extra 4 from the dealers providing you have all the servicing etc done by them!

Just ring them and ask.

Has the split gone all the way through? I would have thought it would be quite noticeable as whenever I have had anything like that it has either been low on power or making a load of black smoke!

It's leaked oil everywhere and the wife drives it so unless the wheels have fallen off she doesn't notice......
It's a Mitsubishi so has the 5 year manufacturer's warranty which is why I paid for the extortionate service a few months back.

Mercedes - my cars lowest cost service costs £360 (i.e. oil and filer change) unless you want a loan car or collection / return which is another £45! Challenge is to drink enough coffee / eat enough biscuits whilst waiting to get value for money - so far even if you price at Starbucks levels I am some way short.
