Due to getting dangerously cold in my new metal shoulder joint when it was very frosty a few weeks ago I've been looking for a fairly light weight sleeveless body warmer , that is in a size big enough for my 54 inch chest when naked . So looking for around 58 inch 5XL chest when clothed for outdoor work .
Screw Fix stuff was shell suit crap, that would melt at the sight of an angle grinder let alone sparks from one . Size wise they only seem to cater for skinny little guys with concave pigeon chests . £ £32 in the shop .. I froze my ass off when wearing it inside the mancupboard , it's that thin & cold .
So down into the rabbit warren of the internet I ventured , after three hours I found some stoatly different , made with 60% polyamide and 40% cotton .. ordered one for the Chinese makers . £34 inc delivery due in 19 Dec ... Brrrr ... I'll just have to stay indoors till it arrives .
Friday night I open the computer up and as a result of my searches there is a plug for motorcycle leathers & under leather warm clothing . I had a look ..some great thermals there . but I don't really want " Betty Swollocks " around me when out in the garden or mancupboard or if I suddenly need an urgent diabetic /spinal injury caused pee or dump .
Progressing deeper into the site I found a heavy cotton padded denim sleeveless jacket ( aka body warmer ?) Hmm £ 54 inc. delivery by this afternoon . So I took a chance and ordered one as well .
It arrived a few minutes ago .
I'm well pleased with it , whilst not PP stuff it is really well made , with a button over flap over a full length brass zip , has four large outside pockets and two large internal pockets ..one with a zip on it.
On putting it on , it does not feel heavy but does feel nice and warm . Body length is great too as it is almost down the the base of my spine . The sleeveless arms are brilliant nice and free / big , tape bound edges and plenty of movement without rubbing the very tender left shoulder area.
I'm really well please with it and am happy to recommend them .
It appears it will also fit easily under my old pure cotton pocketed mancupboard " Cow coat " .
