wanted someone to cut out a hole in plate

hello
wonder if someone could help me please cut out a hole in a thick steel plate about 5mm thick if possible. i dont have the plate myself but can have a look on ebay for some and send it.
this hole has to be +- .5mm on the size tollerance maby on hole size if at all possible ? hole size 50 by 100mm ish
this hole is going to be a template, and use this to cut something out using a knife so needs to be thickish

I'll cut it for you Jon on my plasma table. Can't guarantee tolerance, but a few trial cuts should get it on size. There will be some taper on the walls. Does it really need to be 5 mm thick ?

Sorry hole is rectangular, so if cut by plasma, i could file edges just need the sides to be spot on ish?

No doesnt have to by 5mm thick i soppose, maby i got carried away, 3mm? But needs to be pretty ridgid, no taper required

Given them a shout. They have helped me a lot.
They are old fashioned place and will give you a yes or no. If No they will point you in the right direction.

3mm plate..
I use a jigsaw new blade and some treflux..
I have a tin that must be 20 yrs old..

I cut a door in a gas bottle burner in 15 mins like that..

How about 4 bits of flat bar/strip welded together to form an internal rectangle

If it is a cutting template for some thing like a Stanley knife then 1mm mild steel would do. As mentioned, have a look at laser cutting firms, some will do small quantities for less than you'd think.
