Want to extend the pipe from the welder to the regulator

HI there,

I have just joined the forum, (introduced myself in the introduction section) and have one of many questions to ask.

The welder that I bought has only got a small section of pipe coming from it, approx 10" in length and 5mm ext dia. As you can imagine this is no use to man nor beast and so want to add a decent length of pipe to connect to the regulator, however I am not sure what is the best way to do it.

Can I buy a new length of pipe and strip out the old one and do it that way, (welder is new by the way) or can you buy connectors etc so you can attach a wider pipe to the smaller one?

Any ideas, suggestions etc will be greatly appreciated!!

You could do it either way Grumpy, the easiest is to get the extra length of tubing and simply splice it with one of these . That way you don't affect the machine's warranty in any way as it's new.
No problems to disconnect, just push the collar inwards and pull the tube out.

It sounds like you have hobby welder with the pipe for connecting to the small disposable gas bottles. You need a kit to enable connection to a full size refillable bottle regulator. Try sending a personal message to a member on here weldequip who would sort you out, or you can get them from machine mart or other welding supplies.
The kit has a larger diameter hose with a small push fit connector on one end that you push your small pipe into and on the other end a swivel nut to connect to a gas regulator.

Have moved over to refillable bottle for my Clarke 135te, Sourced regulator and 5 metre's of extension from weldequipe and have not looked back.
