Wall light Wiring

Hello everyone,
Seeking a bit of wiring advice please, basically my girlfriend saw this metal wall light and Guy had pics of various previous ones she said can I make one?
" yeah dead easy it's simple"
So now I'm in process of welding one up but need to know correct way to wire up ????
Is the earth fine like this?

Difficult to see from the picture, but ideally all exposed metal parts should be connected together (via a weld is fine) and an earth connection point provided, could be a nut & bolt or maybe a welded on stud?.

Make sure the flex is held secure in some sort of clamp, that all commections are enclosed and that there is a good earth connection to the metalwork... Crimped ring connector bolted to clean metal. All accessible wiring should be insulated and sheathed - not just single insulated. If in doubt get an electrician to check your work.

It depends on the lamps you use.
If they are 230v then wire then up in parallel. If you are pluging it in then a suitable fuse 3A or 5A depending on the lamp reqirements (total of all the bulbs). The earth should be directly connected to the metalwork of the lamp.
If you are using 12v then you'll need a transformer first.

So lights can be 2 core live n neutral but the power line in from plug 3 core with its earth connected to a welded on bolt???

If there is a removable metal part that needs to be earthed as well.

I can't see what type of lamp holders you've used but make sure there's no chance of the cables or bulb pins touching the metalwork. Use rubber grommets in the holes to protect the cables.
I would also make sure it's got plenty of tash wax too.....
