Wall chasers?

I've got nice tools, some professional stuff I've had for 35 years or more. Brushes, some bearings, but still running......and I've got some 'orrible stuff, like a Chinese biscuit jointer, and truly nightmarish stuff, like an Einhell crosscut saw.

Those last two I've done some good work with, after setting them up carefully every time, and ignoring their hilariously inaccurate depth tables and degree markings.

Now I need a wall chaser, something similar which will cut maybe a total 100m for conduit without the magic smoke coming out. Any advice? I could do it with a grinder, but something with a vacuum cleaner take off would be favourite.

Do not buy the cheap screwfix one, I blew 4 up chopping out 1 metre squares of concrete floor to fit 6 level shower trays

500 euros here, £350 in the UK but customs and carriage will put it back up to 500, too much altogether. Bet it's a nice tool though.

There it is, £90 in Screwfix, who, of course, tell us that they have suspended all sales to the EU. Can't imagine why.....

last time i used mine i cut through a 22mm watermain under the floor screed chasing across a classroom floor to a bench fortunately everyone rallied round and got it stopped and fixed .if we hadnt there would have been at least 20 grands worth of damage to ceilings parquet floors computers and lazer cutter . its only done 3 chases in its life . had it for about 10 years

A chaser with good extraction must be worth every penny.

A grinder and a hoover just makes an astronomical amount of mess.

it can be used in a habitated house using the henry hoover but id only use it on rendered cement walls .i normaly use a 18 volt dewalt hammer drill with rotaray stop and chissel bits or an armeg 20nmm gouging chissel

For 100m of chasing just a 9" diamond blade in a normal grinder. Cut both sides and knock out with a chisel.

Back in the day 100m of 25x25 chasing in a day earned you a 40 quid bonus

I picked up a hilti DC SE20 for a decent price last year. Well worthwhile.

Edit SE19 here but still a decent tool. Extraction is top notch

I have the same and it's fine but like you said don't push it hard or it'll stall.

I remember when I was an apprentice a nutter of a chaser all in full air mask etc, you could here him swearing at the walls all day long even over the noise of the tools
