does anyone know if the earlier Caddy van with the 1,9 D is the same ABL unit but with common rail.....
looking to buy a 5 seater but not with the extra modern electronics, adBlue etc etc.....def not the 1,6 or 2,0ltr D's.....

Ps ......I'd buy the Toyota Pro Ace if it was made in Derbyshire or Japan......not FRANCE by Citroen/Pregeot....
why is it hard to buy a trouble free modern vehicle.....

ABL 1.9 units were fitted to T4 transporters

AHU AFN 1.9 were fitted to Caddy/Polo - later ALH had VNT turbos.

AHU 1Z is a better engine than the earlier PD offerings.


I have worked on Taxis in years gone past with starship mileages on these 1.9 engines.

But I reckon you would be lucky to find a good one now - they just so old!

Wifey has had Golfs with aaz and ahu engines, pretty much bulletproof.
