First post so go easy on me. I've rewired a few metal working lathes with these inverters and have made switch panels for them. I always use momentary switches for the on and off, with a relay circuit in parralel with the on switch to hold it on. This is a safetly feature, in the event of losing power, the relay opens and the machine cannot restart of it's own accord. The control outputs are low voltage and very low current so use a transistor driven relay. I do use a toggle switch for forward/reverse.
