Voltage for Macbook 'Striplight' bulbs

Our Macbook died a horrible death underfoot. I salvaged a few bits, including the thin circa 1mm diameter striplights that act as, I assume, the backlight for the screen.

Anyone know what voltage they would be? I fancy trying to incorporate them into a clipboard for work, if possible.

Either 3.3, 5 or 12V I’d think. Do you have a variable power supply (or can rig one up with a variable resistor)? If so I’d start at 3v and wind it up until it looks reasonable.

No idea if the light rig will have a current limiting resistor in series so I’d probably use 470R to 1K in series to be careful.

Yes, they need a high voltage inverter driver circuit.
