hi anyone got any experince of vito vans? what they like and what sort good millage they good for seen some for sale but quite high millage butr not sure about vans is that a problem?

I've got a Peugeot Expert but did consider a Vito. Biggest problem is bodywork - made in Spain and can fall apart like 1970's Fiat was enough to put me off. Google Vito rust and you will see the problem.

yup thats my experience rusty rusty rusty!
VW transporter was one of the last vans to be made tough and fixable but even these seem to have issues now, plus you have to pay "Scene tax" to own one.
have a Dispatch now but still miss my old Transporter
(BTW Citroen still going strong, still smells of wet dog and came with a Lorch cap in the "mezzanine" above the drivers seat

Brother in law had a Vito, nice to drive and quite nippy but as above it certainly knew how to rust.

WARNING WARNING, DO NOT BUY A NEWER SHAPE VITO, google vito electrical faults, they die for fun, coil springs are made of spaghetti and snap for no reason, body rots like anything, gearboxes crunch even from new 6speed box chews 1st and second gear syncro,rebuilt the gearbox from scratch, still crunches,ive had 4 vitos the early ones before 2004 last longer with less faults, ive broke driveshafts on a brand new van,

I drove a vito to Slovenia and back a while ago, terrible electrical trouble on the way home, cut out every 100 - 150 miles and would only restart when it felt like it....... Not great when coming back across Italy as they don't like hard shoulders on their motorways!

I have had a couple of Vitos the first was a 108CDi which I took to 160,000 thanks to the London LEZ I had to get rid of it I am now on a 08 115 which now is a just under 100k, in a mix of inner London and motorway driving use I average around 40MPG with a light load. The later RWD Vitos are a much quiter than the older FWD Vitos and have better paint work.
No complaints from me, I would have another any day.

we bought one second hand for work a few years ago only done or so the clock said 650000 but we ended up getting rid quite quickly due to expensive injector problems and the bodywork. other than that it flew and was nice to drive! ended up with VW lt28 amazing what you can put them through but bodywork again poor! What can you do!!

We have an assortment of vans on our combined fleet (a few companies in one group with different combinations of Directors)... I use a Connect, there are two Vitos, three Astras and a Caddy.
The Caddy just cost £1000 to fix due to injector problems supposedly caused by the engine oil dropping too low (only holds 3.5L!).
Both Astras have recurring engine warning lights and go into limp mode; diagnostics show no fault but keeps coming back.
One ('07) Vito had to have a new airflow meter (£350 IIRC) at less than 80,000 miles. The other has been trouble-free as far as I know: both are '07s with RWD and 6-speed boxes, neither is rusting, no gearbox problems. They are used by electricians/ pipe fitters for site jobs all over the country so neither is pampered.
My '09 Connect is on 108,000 miles and apart from oil and filter changes now it's out of warranty, plus a look-over the brakes before MOT time, it just keeps going.
My previous van was an '03 Connect: six years and 130,000 miles and apart from one broken wire to the alternator it was perfect until the month we decided to update it, when it developed a starting problem that even Ford weren't sure how to diagnose - apart from replacing the fuel system piecemeal. Someone must have fiixed it because it still shows as taxed on the DVLA site...
