Virgin media broadband/telly

When we had virgin media installed we had a telly box in the kitchen so we have a co-ax wallplate on the back wall. I want to move the router. Looking at the wiring coming in the front room theres a co ax in to a splitter. One leg goes to the router, one to the cable where we had the front room telly box. So can I assume this rear wallplate will work the router if I plug it in ?

if you have the screw end router then just extend the wire from the incoming box to the modem

mines on a long extension wire from the box say 20ft away

has no problem being used like this and well over

Cheers Gaz, Ive ordered an extension but if itll run from the wallplate its a win win. Ill try it tomorrow and see

I recently discovered f connector compression fittings if you end up extending the cable. Pretty cheap at £15 Inc the special tool....literally cannot pull the connector off once fitted.

Those screw connectors are a faff...kept falling off!

Plugged in and it fired up straight away. Its now sat on the worktop in the kitchen extension. Full signal all through the house and in the offices.
