Vinyl Wrapping a vehicle (doors)

My Land Rover needs new doors and a bulkhead. I have all of the bits and will need to spray them before fitting. All fine there. However, the vehicle will look odd if I put newly sprayed doors on it unless I re-spray the rest of the bodywork. The trouble is, I like the look/patina of the 110 as it is - its old and used and it looks it and I like that!

A friend suggested that if I were to take detailed photos of the old doors before replacement, I could get the new ones wrapped so that they look like the ones they are replacing (just not rusty and falling apart!!)

Can anyone recommend somewhere that might be able to do this for me in either South Hertfordshire or East Cornwall? I don't mind dropping the doors off a bit further afield for a good recommendation.

Not sure where to start looking as a lot of the websites for companies that offer this are pretty rubbish so a recommendation would be good!

How abbout painting the door (which it will need before wrapping) then detailing it in a patina style, not sure how its done but the vw crowd have done it sucessfully without resorting to the obviously fake rusty paint.Think fine sanding and talcum powder might be involved.

Thanks - I will give them a look (I travel from Cornwall to London and back each week so can pass them and drop the doors off if they can do it.

If I can figure out how it is done, that could be an option - I am pretty impatient with paintwork though and it sounds like this may need patience!

I could screen print them with scratches and the like, if you want?

The farm and earthmoving modellers do some very convincing weathering with the skilled application of paint.
May be worth investigating.

It's just a plastic sticker. Same stuff as all the signs you see on the side of vans.

Why not just spray the parts with a bit more of a Matt finish, and leave it at that? If you get the paint reflectivity and shade right then they won't stand out.

The paint is pretty mottled, laquer is present in some places and not in others, so a standard finish across the door will still look odd.

They arent in great condition to be honest and i have gone for galvanised steel skins on the new doors to avoid the dissimilar metal corrosion problem we have with the ali skins and steel frames.

Let me paint the new bits, They will look so bad you will not want to notice them and the old panels will stand out as they look so much better

Was thinking along same lines. Already "utility matt" finish, no point in spraying. Once it's dirty will pretty much look like old

That looks good and the finish is in keeping
