This is my homemade vice mounted metal break which bends 5mm aluminium plate with ease it is also good for steel and other metals great for various Fabrication jobs I keep giving myself

been looking at those sometimes just to bend odd things to size when needed

looks good i usually clamp the work in the vice and bash it with a hammer until its bent how i need it

thats my habit with 5mm x 6" or longer sometimes but my vice isnt on a bench so its a little easier to get a really good swing at it

though im worried i may damage such an expensive item to replace again

mine is bench mounted and i can still get a good swing if need be

i am also worried about damaging the vice too though

That gives me the idea of making a 50 mm square bar with a hole in one of the edges so it sits at 90% to the shaft of the ram on my 12 tonne pipe bender then making a simple magnetic shoe out of some 8 " U girder to sit upside down under the roller support bridge . Setting up the girder with a 90% V also made out of the 1/2 " thick girder ...

It now looks like my to do list has just increased by one item , now that I've purchased a cheap 25 kg pair of magnetic welding angle plates .
