Vfd for this 0.75kw lathe motor?

Just seen a lathe for sale but it's got 3ph heynau motor. What kind of vfd will run it?

You would need the motor info plate, that looks like the plate from some kind of gearbox.

Yes, of course. I should have realised when the plate talked about oil capacity I've msged seller to have another look and will report back

Same scenario as those 3" grinders though. For the cost, not a big thing if they are. The fun's in the acquiring.

Should this go on the scope creep thread.. went on to the forum for a look- ended up buying a VFD. (Which in the early hours was becoming a desire for a new motor for the lathe…)

....and in my case...asked about a VFD for a 3phase lathe motor..... bought jthe VFD.....and then bought the 3 phase lathe to go with it

Granville senior ...but the worst thing is the seller doesn't know much about it .....part of a workshop he's taken over and he needs space. Looks lightly used (but is that because it doesn't work well lol). It's possible I can arrange 3 phase Genny to test it...and it's also 40 miles away...meanwhile an old myford has popped up just down the road ...decisions decisions....they're both around 200£

But in al seriousness, you will be able to sell the one you don't want for at least the same money you paid for it. Maybe even a little profit to buy tooling.....
