What does task manager say is maxing out the CPU?

Can people please get it out of their head that an operating system using RAM is a bad thing.
RAM is fast, really fast (12.8GB/s vs 0.75GB/s). If you're not using it then that means you're wasting it and reading stuff from disk which is waaaaay slower.
The caveat is when a program needs it the OS needs to free it up quickly.

Well it was acronis true image.
At 50% and malwarebytes.
But when it was locked up at 100% it could not even run task manager.
It often gets slow but a reboot of Firefox usually solves the problem. Or a reboot of Windows.
Ironically when I followed a you tube video about removing unwanted bloat it was blisteringly quick.
Especially loading. Fusion.loads slow as does Firefox.

It's just that yesterday it kept locking up....so software issues or virus/malware was suspected.

Fusion will always boot slowly, that's normal. Firefox (Or any browser) should boot pretty much instantly though, have you got loads of extensions installed?
Ok sometimes firefox loads slowly...that slow I am not sure it's going to load.
Other times it's quick. So I don't think it's extensions.
click start
type "run" (no quotes) and press return (you might have to click it instead depending on your start menu options)
a box pops up
type "msconfig" in it (again no quotes) and press ok
new window pops up
click the services tab at the top, then click the "hide all Microsoft services" box bottom left
now you see a list of everything that starts up and runs in the background when your PC boots up
it's probably a long list... and it's almost all total rubbish... there's about 20 things in my list but only 3 are allowed to run, one is Anydesk (program to let me connect remotely) and the other 2 are both dropbox (file sharing program)
best bet is to click disable all (bottom right) then go through the list and see if there's anything you really need, tick the box next to them to enable them again
don't be tricked by names you recognise - there's about 5 in my list for google chrome - they're all disabled and chrome still runs 100% fine
if you untick something you need you can always tick it again later
remember.... you're not disabling the programs you untick... you're just stopping them starting at startup

go down this list and see what you can disable - by right clicking on each program the clicking disable
if you're not sure about something you can right click on it and "search online" to see what it is
again... most stuff can be disabled, and you can always enable it again later if you mess up
first time you do this might take 5 or 10min if you're very cautious.... takes me less than 2min now, it's my go-to when people tell me their computer is slow and they're always shocked by the results, enough that they assume I've taken their laptop apart and upgraded it
