Very quick one about 2 welding jobs I have

Hi all,

I've got a couple of mates who have asked my to do a few patch jobs for them.

One is the rear door of a van, something around the hinge splitting. I'm guessing its coming away from the body.
- so for this I gather I would need to grind the paint back, get a good earth somewhere and just weld it up.

The other friend has about a 1cm blow in the weld of a stainless (i think cheap) exhaust, where it meets the silencer.
- would i be ok to just drop a few tacks on this with mild steel wire?

yep its no problem to weld stainless with mild steel wire, but the weld will go rusty.

As for the door, grind it back nice and clean, make sure there are no wires in the door or anything flammable. It should be fine, try to keep the earth as close to the welded area as possible
