I'm a sad old "person" who likes unusual vehicles and the Velorex Oskar 16/350 has always appealed to me. I've looked into buying one numerous times in the past but even a total basket case that needs massive restoration and collecting from 1000 miles away is still outside my budget of 37p and a sweet covered in pocket fluff.
I can no longer cope with riding two wheels so am developing an idea of building a lightweight three wheeler along the lines of the Velorex albeit not a copy and only single seater.
The basics are a motorbike engine and swinging arm at the rear, sidecar front wheels on a lightweight tubular frame that is then covered in leathercloth.
All I can find out is the main frame rails are 32mm but no other specs. With it being a 1950's communist design I doubt any fancy grade tube was used and more likely whatever was available.
Do people think this 3mm walled would be suitable -
