Variable Frequency Drive VFD

I have bought myself a milling machine, it has a 3hp dual voltage motor and it runs happily off my Transwave Static Converter, the problem is is that the mill is in a different building to the Converter, the converter sits next to all my woodworking equipment, so I have run a temporary 3 phase extension lead across the garden to test the mill. (Not best practice!)
I am toying with the idea of getting a cheap VFD to run the mill as they are cheap enough on ebay but I am concerned that they are 'too cheap'.

Look at his feedback and the other stuff he sells.

I'd be inclined to pay a bit more and buy from a specialist.

I bought a branded (abb) inverter for my small mill last year from halcyon drives in leeds, it was new old stock, a well out of date model but it works fine. Maybe email them and see if they can help you.

There's always a risk involved when buying new old stock drives. Especially the capacitors need to be reformed if the drive has been sitting on a shelf for more than a year. Did your drive come with a warranty?

What model of ABB drive did you buy? ABB came out with a new micro drive last year at a very reasonable price point called ACS250 with 3 different model variations.
