Valve timing vauxhall v6 engine

Hi guys, long shot here, I'm wondering if anyone has prior experience of tweaking valve timing on the above engines?

I know how to time it to the makers marks, I could do that until the cows come home. More interested to know if anyone has played with the timing a little and what results you've had.
Engine is a y32se, originally fitted with G inlets and J exhaust camshafts. Now altered to G's all round. I'm going all out on this build and looking at making sure the valve timing is as good as can be. I'm no stranger to the dyno but at £40 a run it gets to be expensive R and D for a one off.

I havnt personally but I have two mates with Rolling Roads one is well into his Vauxhalls, I will have a word to see if he has any setting from previous runs. I presume you are on verniers then ?

No standard setup, but there are little eccentric pulleys that let you advance/retard each bank independantly with respect to Tdc. The two shafts in the bank are tied together still. Would be willing to get verniers if I knew it would be worthwhile. Main problem with these engines is breathability.

used to have a gsi vecra i picked up for buttons at the auctions, not sure what motor but it had msd stickers and 2.5 ltr iirc that had littel ecentric pully infrount and inbeteen the pairs of cams, there was a lot of swearing when changing the belt on that without the timeing kit, had to buy yhr timeing kit and had had the belt off about 4 times trying to get it to go right again, if you get it to far out the ecu light comes on lol

Had a look there but didn't want to join just to pick their brains and then probably never post again.

dannyp they are do-able with out the timing kit, just takes a little longer. The hollow socket for adjusting the eccentrics is a must if working in situ though.
