Dc is more dangerous as there is no pulse as with AC, so once you get hold you can't let go.

I'd say the best way to do it would be a combination of trap and electricity; have a trapdoor-type trap set so that when ratty enters, the door slams shut behind him. Then use a switch on the closed door to fire up an oscillator circuit energising an HT coil connected to a matrix of contact pads so that wherever it stands it gets a belt. A few minutes of that should give it a heart attack (but the mess in the meantime might be smelly). A wire mesh cage might not work as it'd jump up and cling to the bars, probably have to be enclosed plastic.
Now I'm not a sadistic barsteward so I probably wouldn't do it myself .. one might venture that a viable alternative would be a clear perspex box as the trap and the doorswitch actuates a gas valve (like you'd find in a MIG welder, for example) connected to a bottle of a suitable asphyxiant gas... Argon, let's say Set it up to deliver just enough flow and pressure to purge the box; five or ten minutes sniffing that should do for most mammals, I would have thought.
Of course the plumbing would have to be as gastight as a Dutch Oven ... you don't want to have Argon leaking into the house and find youself waking up dead.

just use a mk4 fentrap it never fails. put them in a 4inch pipe baited or not the rat runs through and gets squashed braking its neck

I have had an ac shock and can tell you my muscles wont react quick enough to a 50hz supply (50 times a second).

I've managed a 240v mains shock and a 200J DC shock from a defibrillator, the sensation and degree of surprise were pretty much equal. The second one came close to making an anaesthetist wee herself.

The HT cables used on x-ray systems have to handle up to 225kV and will act like 15m long capacitors, staying charged for months.
Wakes you up when you grab the end contacts without thinking. To show how much charge they retain, if you remember to earth them you can get a spark jumping a good quarter-inch... there's usually about 20-25kV across a spark plug (with a 0.8mm gap).

I've had a few 220V belts, including one that pulled all the power down in a unit in Denmark They weren't impressed, lost an entire morning's work on their computers.

i have seen a few of his clips, i genuinely cant figure out if he is just stupid or a jack ass type character (stupid either way i guess) that knows what's going to happen.

I've had vermin problems myself in the loft and as I don't really like poison or clearing up from a heavy snap trap, I bought a thing called a 'Raticator'. Runs off 4 duracell batteries and they basically wander into the thing and step on two plates. I suspect the voltage is quite high (several thousand volts I suspect due to the arcing if there is any contamination). As above it doesn't take much current to kill them but the volts helps to get it through them. Killed about 35 last year on same set of batteries, put the bodies on the lawn and within the hour the red kites had taken them. None this year as I think I managed to find where they were coming in and blocked it up. Had a CCTV rigged up in loft so I could see the trap from my computer.

Are you referring to Rats or mice?
