Using ChatGPT For Planning Permission

From a comment on another forum I just used ChatGPT to write a draft, supporting planning application document for me. I asked it:


"come up with a Supporting Document for an Outline Planning Application at <post code> <house number and road >. For bringing dormers forward and changing the hipped roof to gable ends"

It gave a long and detailed response that you simply couldn't tell was AI generated.

I then asked it:

"As a Planning Officer for <whoever> Council, use the NPPF and Local Development Plan to assess the Outline Planning Application and provide a decision"

It got approved! Well, at least in the realms of VR!

Needs some tweaks but really impressed.

Chat GPT is incredible. I sometimes use it to debug C# code and to write a proper report based on a load of bullet points. Very clever stuff!

I have a friend who uses it to write all of the reports she has to submit to management. Works a charm

Not foolproof, clearly woke and easy to upset:
