Hi,
I've just joined the forum, as I plan to teach myself to arc weld.
I am currently considering the following welding machine -
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-mma140-arc-mma-inverter-welder/#reviewsBox
as it comes from a long-established 'bricks and mortar' (as well as on-line) equipment chain store, together with a 2 year warrantee.
My question is regarding passive helmets.
I know that indoors you have to strike an arc before you can see to weld, but when outdoors would it be possible to see clearly due to the much greater light levels?
I have decided on a passive helmet for the clear view and for simplicity.
I will do all my welding outdoors.
Thanks.
