Urgent plasma torch help...

Picked up my cebora car30m plasma cutter to day,i was told it needed a new tip,anyway came all the way back from essex to bristol with in and took it took my local welding spares shop,they looked at the torch and told me its f***ed it needs a new 'head' wich is gona cost about £120!! so ive found a complete brand new torch with lead for a lot less but its for a CP-40 it has the 3wires and air line the same as mine so am i right in thinking it will work ?? i dont think its a scratch start like mine though would this matter? sorry for the essay lol just need to no as i dont want to waste anymore money!!!thanks ryan

Sounds like you have a Tramifet style torch.

They are expensive and only that style will work on a push-down to start cutter.

mine has a button on the top of the torch. what i dont understand is if it has the 3wires and air line why it wouldnt work?

The push-down type torches, short the electrode to the tip, when released an arc starts.

The other torches have a HF start circuit to start the arc.

They work differently.

Its the actual mechanics in the head. They are very different. Got a pic of your torch?
