Hi. If I am ever going to be able to extend my workshop, I have to first do work on my house.
The house is 300-400 years old. Nothing square etc but hey-ho.
I am replacing 2 knackered wooden windows at the rear which cannot be seen by anyone so changing for upvc.
I bought the following fixings from screwfix but for me the design is floured. You position the widow, drill through the window the same diameter as the plug, insert plug and tighten. My issue is that the screw head is only 1mm bigger than the hole. My windows are quite small so to get the drill in, you have to angle it which creates an oval hole. The screw head only just caught.
What am I doing wrong or what type of fixings should I use?
Ideally, I would position the window, pilot drill to the stonework, remove window before drilling wall etc but doing that on you own and getting the window in position to line up the holes is difficult.
