uPVC door handle gearbox

Does anyone know if there is any adjustment on uPVC door handle gearboxes? The type you have to pull up to lock all of the lugs in place on the door before you can turn the key? We have one that will open and close but I cannot lift the handle above horizontal and so cannot lock the door. I have removed it and taken some pics below. Is there an adjustment or does it need a new gearbox? - it isn't stiff, it simply wont go above horizontal

Will it move now it is out of door ?they usually don't lift due to something not aligned, that what it is with ours.
I seem to have trouble with hinges rather than locks heavy door hinge pin one end seem to sag another door hinges supported both ends at full adjustment now for non rubbing closure

Check the brackets on the frame to see if there is any with shiny parts where the mechanism hits.

If ut will move now then the keepers probably need adjusting, if it won't move then you need a new lock. Screwfix have several in stock

No. Wont move at all. It is solid at horizontal and wont lift up at all. I did hope it was just misalignment bit alas no.

you can get new gearboxes fitted if the rests ok. they do it at m and b hardware in middlesbrough 65 quid all in a complete mechanism is about 120

Good find Tony. Thanks. Its a 35mm backset, but they have those too.

I have a similar system, the handle will go up only if a latch is pushed on, so the door cannot slam shut and break the locking pins.

Sometimes the part pushing the latch will break apart or get loose, it's on the trim part of the door

I spent a couple of hours at the weekend trying to sort a similar issue, but going to have to get a replacement. For what it costs, you'd be better off replacing the whole mechanism rather than just the lock/gearbox.
