on my mig(see here) the fan in the 4th pic down(post 5) has no cowling around it
now it works fine but theres a lot of airflow coming of the side of the fan instead of going out the vent......on a forage harvester we have here we had a problem with overheating and after a lot of headscratching and experimenting i eventually found out the fan was on the wrong way round and was sitting very proud of the cowling.once turned around the machine was totally different, lots and lots more airflow over the radiator and 100% better cooling
so im thinkng to get a sweet tin(or similar about 10 inch diameter) and make a cowling to improve the efficiency of the fan and hopefully improve the duty cycle
what do you think???
