Upgrading my torch

So far I am very pleased with my new macine (Sip P178).

However I find the torch a bit big and its not got a flexi-head.

It is a WP-17 sized torch ( rated to 150A ).

I would to replace it with the Flexi version - I assume this is no problem

Now, I will never need to go any where near 150 amps

Could I instead down size to a WP-9 Flexi?
I know I would have to buy new collets and shrouds and endcaps etc.

Any problems I need to be aware of?

I think that a wp9 uses a smaller connection to the power/gas hose as well as smaller collet bodies/back caps etc. Wp17, 18 and 26 share the same 3/8 32tpi collet bodies and back caps (wp9 and 20 use 5/16 unf) and i know that a wp9 head won't fit a wp26 powerlead as it's come up before. Not 100% sure re fitting a 9 head to a 17 body, certainly no problems swapping the entire torch for a wp9/wp9-f and it'll get uncomfortably hot before you damage things if pushing it
