I bought a harbor freight gas-less mig welder off of e-bay for 23 dollars,I had heard all the bad things about them,I have a lincoln ac 225 stick welder but it runs off of 220 and I only have a 220 hook-up in my laundry room for the clothes dryer so I wanted a mig that would run off of 120 which I have in my workshop. That is one of the reason's I bought the hf welder plus the cost.I am slowly upgrading it to work better. The first thing I did was to buy a better ground clamp, the one that came with it was just about useless, you would have to put it right next to where you was going to weld to get a good ground.I have a friend that works at a welding supply company and I got him to order me one from lincoln electric. It only cost 14 dollars plus it has the copper shunt so that both sides ground. The next thing was to buy a knurled drive roller being as this welder being gas-less came with a regular roller, the knurled roller made a lot of difference, wire has not slipped once plus very little pressure has to be applied the the adjust on the wire feed, plus I done the sip mod on the wire feed....I have had no other problems with this welder as of yet, seems to weld decent for a 23 dollar gasless welder
