Hi to all!
Hope the weather/wind & floods in England haven't affected any of the fellow members here on the forum.
Weather here has been very stable, with just humidity varying.
Anyway, those who read my last post would of seen that after looking for work over the Christmas period, I managed to grab the interest of a truck service body factory in Brisbane.
Well, 5 weeks on an all is well! I'm doing overtime as its busy, so with time and half brings me up to £19.50 per hour of overtime, and then the regular casual rate of £13.00 per hour.
In these 5 weeks, i've learned how to measure more accurately, 2 pack paint,
read schematics, drill & tap holes neatly, and become a little more accustomed to imperial measurements. My tool box was outgrown within the first 3 week! Now i'm finding myself buying more tools as each week goes by!
The downside is that driving 500 miles per week commuting, plus any I do leisurely is giving my car a good bashing! (1990 Corolla with 295,000 miles) Its had done by me in the last 5 weeks...
New C.V. boot joints,
New radiator (It popped the old clogged one!)
New Thermostat
New Belts
New water pump,
New plug leads
New rocker cover gasket
sump removed and resealed
Carburetor cleaned and adjusted..
It needs a new idler pulley for AC belt.
Some new brake pads in the next month or so..
Its service intervals (oil and filter) recommend every 5000 kilometers which is every 5 weeks!
Needless to say I have come to be very knowledgeable of the weird carburetor setup on this thing!
Anyway, a few pictures of what we build here at this company would be of interest for some.
