some for`ty odd years ago I wa using a 2.5 rod for up hand......it would do a straight weld with no weave......
it was on 3mm plate, the weld was around 8" long, done inside and out.....
it was for corner gusset / fillets on a narrow boat windows, so not exactly a stressed weld...
the main çoncern was that it looked nice without grinding and it was watertight......
Now I have to do more uphand, same size plate, not structural and I dont want the look of a weave.....
anyone suggest a suitable rod....it's an outside job so cant use a mig......
