Universal thread repair tool

The expanding internal chaser is worth adding to the thread saving arsenal, just insert to the bottom of the thread, expand and unwind. Very handy for cleaning up pulled threads in blind holes prior to fitting longer studs. Just using a tap quite often over threads, these things clean up the existing so even if you need to thread deeper you are indexed off the original.

This is true. Usually I Helicoil mullered holes, if they are accessible, but my favourite used to be Time Serts from Wurth. These are really excellent but the cost of a kit now is just ridiculous!

Its been a while ago this thread started but used mine today had a damaged wheel stud on and Iveco 5912 kept winding out of the hub after a few minutes with the tool and hey presto that twice its helped me out of a fix.

I saw your comment and just left it at the time but here we go.

Israel produces some world class stuff. ISCAR turning and milling tools are an Israeli company and produce some of the finest machining tools and tips in the world. They have very versatile systems. Israeli Aeronautics is a world leader and their recent moon shot is a good example.
The story of Israel is a fascinating one and if you read about it I will leave you to draw your own conclusions.
It is a fascinating and beautiful country and one I will visit again.

I’ve remembered...I have some noga de- burrers & some paragliding kit is also Israeli. Not seen their m/c tooling.
