Unistrut for replacement garage roof trusses ?

Many years ago I made the mistake of replacing the leaking non asbestos flat roofing sheets on my concrete garage with metal sheeting. Obviously big mistake as terrible condensation so need to do something to correct the problem. Initially I considered lifting the sheets just enough to add a layer of ply covered with waterproof membrane but that has progressed to now changing the whole roof for an apex with insulated tile profile sheets. The current roof trusses are made out of 1" x 1/8" angle that are welded into a flat box frame that are suffering from surface rust so need a lot of work to clean up.
I'm thinking, if changing to apex, of using galvanised Unistrut to make new trusses.
Anyone think of a reason why Unistrut with bolt together joints using standard Unistrut brackets won't work or isn't a good idea ?

We've just used some of the double channel at work, spanning just over 5 metres with suspended ceiling hanging off it and power trunking and sprinkler plumbing sitting on top, the works engineer who came to check the install said we had overspecced it!

I have used S/H standard? 40x40? unistrut for lots of thing it is surprisingly strong, kg for kg I used it for making the bridge spar's for my car trailer to make it full deck and have had fork lifts mini tractors BIG diesel engines sat on the centre part of the deck and it is fine incidentally where the trailer had angle about 60x60 to join the two wheel troughs I just fastened the decking to those angles and it has bent slightly, so it seems the unistrut is springier so much so that I was going to remake my small trailer using it as it is quite cost effective especially if S/H.
I have walked across quite large spans of single unit strut to get across to cable troughs etc and I am 20stone (carrying tools etc), So that being said I would say is ideal for roofing.
