Unidentified workshop parts.....any ideas?

What are these? Found these the other day, 1/4 inch plate, thumbscrews on the end, about 6inches wide!

Aha! ...Of course. ..i thought I remembered them from somewhere.....I don't even have the bar that goes between them but that's easily remedied. Thanks for that

Used to call it the "godsend" at work because every time we brought it out the service manager would mention what a godsend it was.
