Tyre balance beads

Anyone use/used them? I’ve got 37x12.5”r16 tyres on the landy, and frankly last time I asked if I could get them balanced I got laughed at. I’ve seen a lot of yanks talking about balance beads but not spoke to anyone that’s used them

I'm guessing 37's won't fit on a balancing machine? I've got a manual one which doesn't spin the wheel but has a spirit bubble to show when it's balanced

I had some tyres fitted to a Landy that were too big for their balancing machine, they sent me to a truck tyre place to get them balanced.

Only thing I've got experience of was some kind of powder which my old employer was suggested to fix a wheel vibration issue on a truck.

It didn't work, and we ended up having to take the wheels to somebody who had a commercial wheel balancing machine.

Im looking at a bottle of Green Gunk Tyre stuff in each tyre to do the same thing,

kill two birds etc etc

What is this witchcraft ? How would something like this work on the inner/outer balance that takes out the steering wheel wobble

Hello, I used them in my Citroen DS. Not a great success. They don't emphasize how important it is to add some, see if it worked, add some more, see if it worked and so on. The trouble is, if you overdo it, the wobble comes back.
The DS uses tubes. I tried removing them with a thin tube down the valve hole, no luck. In the end I had the tubes removed, cut a nick in them and poured them out. New tubes. Never bothered again.
I still have them (Dynabeads), give me a shout if you want them.

That’s what I’m wondering. I can’t imagine the amount of knock on weights for 37 maxxis mud tyres though!!

I ran dynabeads in some 31/10.5/15 and they were perfect. (no other weights, and they were PERFECT).

but, you'll need a lot of them for 37s - their website tells you how much weight you need.

I was recommended them with the remoulds on the D2. In the end I just bought an L200

I've heard that Airsoft BBs can work too, but never tried.

That might work out expensive for the sake of wobbly tyres

The tyre fitters could never balance up the tyres on his 110 & he used balance beads & it cured the problem. Must have been in there for about 3 years now.
