twisted i beam

i have bought couple of i beams for a extention job. one 2.7 meters and one 3.5 they are 152x89x?

i have to notch one out and fit 90 degrees to other one, that fine but it seem that one of them has twist in the end of it! so could anyone help me as to how to get twist out or anything that may help

How badly is it twisted? BS tolerance for twist/size/straightness is quite large but if its really bad/out of spec send it back.

I've never had to twist one. I'd either live with it or get it swapped.

If its that bad, just send it back and ask for a replacement. No point messing about with it

if your stuck with it its possible to partly correct it ,place on the ground with varying thicknesses of wooden shims,more one side than the other & driving over it to force the deflection out ,sometimes its neccesary to park a vehicle on one corner flange to restrain that side & then drive the other vehicle along the opposite flange.its harder with the smaller sections because theres not much width to create a lever effect,the beams i've twisted were 254mm wide.good luck.

cheers for help got it sorted in end, couldnt really send it back as i needed it for this monday ona job. so i have just made it work out the best i can. its not major twist just enough that it dont look perfect but i recon it be fine!
