Tweco and tips

Hi all, i have had a Thermadyne 181i for a while now and it has a Tweco gun, i got a bag of tips from the local suppliers but i find it difficult to get them in, its like i have to tap them in, and they still dont go all the way in ( dnt want to snap one off ) and they protrude a few mm out of the shroud.

Why is this?

What size gun and what tips are you using?

The tips should be stamped 11-xx or 14-xx.

Hi, sorry for late reply, the torch is the Tweco 180, the tips are not marked except fo the 0.8 tip size, neither is the bag they came in. I need some more so when i go to the suppliers i will take the torch with me.

There are 3 different 180 amp Tweco guns: #1, Weldskill 180 and Fusion 180.

The #1 has 3 different tips depending on options.

If you have the old tip, see if it has a part # on it or a picture may help.

Sounds like they have given you the tips from the larger torches which use a different thread. I've got all the correct parts in stock, just give me a shout if you need any.
