TV trouble

OK, please i am not good with the TV thing that sits in the corner
We have a, i think LCD telly, when we connect the nintendo WII to play Netflix we get the film in black and white, there is no yellow connector on the back of the telly which i think there normally is, well has been on other telys.

what are we doing wrong, well SWMBO lol doing wrong.

so how are you plugging it in scart socket ?

plugging in the scart in the back of the telly, then the coloured cables as in the red to red socket white to white socket but then no yellow in the telly, but we have an scart adaptor that has all three coloured sockets, so we tried the scart adaptor and all coloured cables fitted but then no picture at all/no signal.

have you checked the side of the tv for video input ours is at the side and with your adaptor did you choose the correct vid channel on the tv it should have worked

OMFFFFFFFG i told SWMBO to check the F^%^%^KING channels aswell, SWMBO, why do we obey them,,,,,F kniws

Some scart plugs are not wired for using video and sound both in and out. Some have a switch to select in/out. Maybe this why you have no signal. You are of course selecting the input using your remote. Stan-- currently in a very wet Montreal, Canada. Oh have you previously used this scart adapter with success ??

Possibly sounds like there is some mismatch on trying to use component or trying to use composite video. Component usually doesn't have any sound with it but does have 3 cables (would require 5 for LH/RH sound) while composite is a single cable for video output and often has the LH/RH phono cables for sound too with it.

I would guess you are trying to use a composite cable that came with the wii in component inputs on the LCD tv hence the black and white. To fix that you would need to buy a component cable for the wii with 5 conectors to the tv (3 video / 2 sound).

we do proper cookin in our house -----we have three microwaves in our kitchen and would you believe the lads had a row coz one used two of them at once one for his rice and one for the chicken , when there was three meals to cook!!
I remember a couple of years ago the wife and i where having a 'discussion' in the frontroom she collected all the diner plates up in a stack, still with some food, gravy, mash, peas etc on them and launched them across the lounge, I said that was a little silly your going to have a hell of a job cleaning that up and walked out and took the dogs with me, so they couldnt help with the clean up!! HA!!

We have SKy, Xbox One, XBox 360 and Wii all routed into our tv.

The older kids (5 & 7) can swap inputs for the different sources no problem but its still flummoxes my parents !!

i dont even try, TV`s i dont have much time for, rather be out and doing something practical and usefull when on the forums researching. i hate it when i hear my grandson of 4 sits in watchng telly and playing stupid games all the time, now and then its ok.

To show how much i dont watch telly, SWMBO went away for a week with the girls, i had the same channel on all that week lol

Can't beat a good home entertainment system thats been set up correctly.

Although, I can't comment on what TV I last watched. There's always something more interesting to be done that gets my time... Cars, Tools, Generally fixing things!
