Thoriated is by far my first choice for steel/stainless and Zirconiated and lanthanated for AC. Lanthanated does both DC and AC perfectly fine but I find thoriated keeps a point best for DC.

I've used some real nasty ones in the past but these seem really good so far.

I was of the same opinion, that was before Hotrodder sent me a Blue tip, while I still have Red and white, I'll not use either while I have Blue

Are blue tip not the same as gold (lanthanated )

Ah I see I did not know the blues were higher content lanth. I'll have to try one now simply out of curiosity. Cheers (learn something new every day).

Close but no cigar

Never used the golds but i like using the blue 2% ones.

So from your guys experience with the blue tips(2%) do they out perform the preferred AC electrodes also? Zirconiated , ciriated,

I used to always use whites on ac with a transformer machine,

Since going over to inverters i've not used them much,
tried the ceriated which i'm not too keen on with both dc and ac, they need redressing quite a bit,
the blues are very good on both ac and dc but not tried them with low amps on dc as i only have 2.4s in blue at the moment,
Still use 1.6 reds on most light guage steel and stainless.
