tube notcher

just made this today in an hour.
I made so that I can have a fairly snug fit to the rear rack frames.
straight cuts leave a canny size gap to weld up.
this should do the trick.
when in use it will be bolted up to the drill table.

Thats a great idea, i can see with a little work you could set it for angled fishmouths too, using various sized hole-saws you could use that for pretty much any tube work. Great thinking and old school workshop tooling

I've been trying to find a cheap abrasive belt one for some time but they all seem to be a couple of grand!

Might have to buy some rollers and a motor...

I used to have a link to "The Chopper Builders Handbook" site but it seems to be down. Anyway there where a very good set of plans on there for a compound mitre saw. I built one a few yrs ago, nice bit of kit. (Sorry no pics)

Thanks langy! By the looks of it, it doesn't do a huge range of angle (40-90 degrees). Speedway Notcher. I take it you've not found this a problem?

The one that chucko found seems good too - especially the price. I just wonder if one should pay more or go cheap.
I've been keeping an eye on a Baileigh TN-250H, £190 delivered, 0 - 50 degrees (I take it 0 degrees actually means 90 degrees). Up to 3".
