Tube bender for 1.25 dia alloy bar?

A mate of mine is after advice on buying a tube bender for work,

He only needs to bend aluminium round in 1.25" (32mm)

This is either 1/4" wall tubing or solid bar.
He is only doing 90deg (max) bends.

I suggested the jd2 or a copy as you can get all sizes of dies for them but I think the jd2 with one set of dies is £700+.

I thought it might be easy enough to make something up for the solid bar, not sure about the tube though? It needs to leave a decent finish on the parts.

Any suggestions?

My friend some years ago bought from this seller on eBay.
It makes an excellent job. Cheap too. The machining of the dies was really good too.

I was looking at the American affordable bender. (Type with bottle jack) Would be about £250 With 1 die. Only bends to 90 degrees though where the jd2 does further.

I would have sold mine up until this evening when it just bought itself back again Just a cheapo crosbow type of hydrolic one
