Chisels won’t be EN8, en8 is a low carbon steel, they wouldn’t harden.
You'd best let all our customers know then

Well carbide tipped, you didn’t say that. You'd best let all our customers know thenall our hammers and chisels are either en8 or en9. The chisels are either tungsten tipped or firesharp (just hardened)

EN8 is about 0.35% carbon, so a low to medium carbon steel. It will harden but I’d be surprised if you saw any more than 40-45HRC and that’s gonna be relatively shallow.
I’m sure it does but what does it temper out at?I also said we do firesharp, they're just plain en8 sharpened and hardened.
I harden all hammers by eye and test the first couple to make sure they're right. We do a farrier hammer that is specified up at 70rc (which is way too hard for a hammer) but it does get that hard.
