Triangular bits-why so difficult to find a set with different sized bits in it?

I`ve looked at a set on fleabay that does not mention sizes of the other bits in the set. I assumed that this was due to the seller’s grasp of English being similar to my grasp of Mandarin.

However, having looked on Amazon at what appears to be the same set, a reviewer writes “ I only needed one of these (all 10 of them are the same size) but for the price they are good". wtf why would you want all 10 bits to be of the same size-maybe they are made of monkey metal?

One of my sons ride on toys is held together with triangular drive bolts...I ground an Allen key down to fit when I had to fix it

I think the eBay seller's grasp of English is better than your own. To quote from the listing, "Size: △18, △20, △23, △27. Specification measurement methods: such as delta 18 refers to the triangle top to bottom height is 1.8mm. As a 23 refers to the triangle top to bottom height is 2.3mm."

Tips do wear out. They sometimes snap. This is why there are multiple tips of the same size in the pack. It is to encourage you to throw away the tip when it becomes worn rather than persist and damage the fastener, thus making what you are trying to open even more difficult.

Maybe by looking specifically for triangular bits, you are restricting the search too much. Try looking for security bits, of which triangular bits are a sub-set.

If you want to buy quality, look at Wera and Weha as they have a good range.

I bought a cheap set like this for about £6 delivered off fleabay as a "just in case" set to leave in my toolbox at work, it's got some triangular bits in.
