Trepidation

Hello I am a late middle aged chap who feels the need to bring an old Morris Thousand Traveller back to life. It needs some serious welding which I was hoping to do myself. I have never welded in my life and do not really understand the process, but am reading and have joined this forum, as I visited and all seem friendly and not too harsh on those new to welding.

Sounds a bit iffy but an old friend died, and his wife wanted to know if I would like his clarke 120E mig welder. It looks ok and he used to take care of his tools. I cannot find a manual on the Clarke website.

Well enough for now I will try and post some pictures as soon as I can get the Traveller to my house.

The Clarke will do you fine.
Just use the forum to learn and practice before you attack the morris.
They are fun and loads of resonably priced spares are available.

Have a browse for the Clarke 110 manual, you may find its an identical enough machine.

Feel free to ask any daft questions you want, we all had to learn so know sometimes the obvious can be baffling.

Well that was my first car - DXD101B - an olive green traveler back in 1969 - cost me £200 - and even then the front wings had rusted through and the timber was distinctively soft in places so 44 years later good luck !!!!

Thanks guys for the welcome, no pics but have looked underneath and both rear spring hangers need replacing, also underthe rear seat is a section of box section? which appears to have been cut from one side to the other? why would anyone do that looks like a cut you would male if going to cut and shut!!!! Next time take camera repeat!
