Had first play last night, very impressive. Very smooth and stable arc, wire feed has excellent control. Burn back is spot on and it seems to have a slight gas purge before going. First project is a welding cart as i really cant get on with not having gas bottle and welder on wheels!
Ive also recently treated myself to one of these. thought i had a major problem with the wire feed after a few hours use, turns out it just needed the tip replaced. I felt like a right tool when i worked it out
Not tried arc yet. Last time I did arc welding it was with a clarke buzz box about 10 years ago, never realised it was AC... didn't know any better at the time.
The difference is astounding. I have a little used silverline 160 buzz box and never really got on with it, hard to strike and maintain the arc without it sticking, but the R-tech is a joy to use. just offer up the stick and away it goes.
The default torch is a 25, which is a little large for what i currently need, so i got the 15 as well as the Arc Stinger.
