What worse than a VW T4 van?

A T5 or a T6.

My workshop has been full of them sometimes - I have seen things go wrong with a T5 van - that I have never seen fail on any other vehicle.

Why anybody would have one for a hobby - God knows?



I am not anti VAG vehicles either - I think a 2.0 diesel Skoda Superb with a CFFB engine in it - is one of the best vehicles on the road today.

I have had a string of VW Crafter vans and they have been better than the Merc Sprinters I used to have.

I would love to agree as love the superb but think the cr tdi engine needs refining to be better. The egr system and far to much electronics.

Always been a big fan of the old 1.9 pd tdi engine as seems to be alot more mechanical. And would go and buy another one tomorrow if I could.

(P.s have a t5 with over 180k miles on It now and only had one issue with the gearbox)

I would second that, Had one for years. Pulled like a train & never went wrong

To be fair looking at the photo a bit more. It has a t5 dashboard, with a t6 facelift, doka mirrors and the exhaust shows it's a few years old so guess it's a t5 prefacelift circa prior to 2009.

Had some money spent at it also as those look like 18 or 19" smoothly steels also.
(Yes they look slick but its more just the angle of the photo)

Agreed as cant see it as a useable work van so to speak.
Would prefer it to be a load lugger rather than a looks queen.

A couple of pallets & it would be on its weight limit or over!
