Transport for purchase, if possible???

My son (the apprentice) appears to have purchased a tig wder from HughF.

I'm wondering if anyone will be travelling from the Corfe Castle or Frome areas to London/Kent area who would be willing to transport the welder and store it for a couple of weeks until I can collect it over the weekend of the 8th June.

Dont really want to courier the item of possible.

For a piece of equipment of this standard is it not just worth filling up the motor and making a day trip out of it.
It’s worth it to go and have a brew with Hugh. He’s a cracking bloke. Very good welder too he’ll have that demonstrated in its best light.

Normally I would, in 2 weeks I'm travelling down to Essex from Chesterfield to call in at HughF is a 200mls detour to the west country. lm not worried, but SHMBO is in the passenger seat and she is looking forward to her families party that weekend

I did propose this detour to "the apprentice" if he covered the extra fuel costs, but the plans were overheard.........

That why I'm asking if anyone is travelling....

I'd prefer it is transported by a forum member, for obvious reasons.

PS. The other possibility is if someone travels from HughF area to the Bristol area, as the firm I work for has a depot somewhere near Bristol and I could get it sent up to me in Sheffield via work...

I believe its in Corfe Castle atm, but HughF seems to be in Frome at the weekends according to his profile and collection is stated as either location.

Its 240 volt Fronious there pictures of it in the Sold section, would go in a car boot easily a one man lift job as far as I can see. I'll contact HughF for confirmation.

Depot post code is BS11 9YE appears to be Avonmouth, sorry for mis-information its always been called Bristol Depot and I've never been there, so believed it was in Bristol

I can do this, but not until Friday morning - I'm all used up until then. (unless it's in Frome at the mo, which I can get to quite easily)

I'm also aiming to be up in Cambridge for the weekend of the 8th-9th - so could maybe drop it off to you, too.
This is assuming it all fits in a caddy van!

Anytime really - I'm there seeing an old mate for the weekend, so might go up Friday or Saturday morning - makes no difference to me.

Frome is mere moments away, so won't make any difference to travel time - as I can nip over there anytime between now & then.

If it's in Dorset, I'll have to pick it up on anytime from Friday morning onwards, it'll just take a couple of hours longer on the day, but it makes no difference to me.

I can PM you my number, if it's easier to arrange that way!

Hi folks, why didn't someone tag me in this post to get my attention

Welder will be in Dorchester at my office until end of work Friday when it will be put in the car and taken up the a350 to just outside Frome. I can drop it off in Frome on the way past, or Country Joe can call in at my place which is probably on his way up to the M4 from Frome on Saturday morning. CJ, we are just off the a26 behind the red lion pub at Woolverton, I imagine you'll go via Melksham/Chippenham to get to the M4.

If required, I could get the welder delivered to Frome one evening after work this week, the wife would be glad to see me during the week I'm sure. CJ, let me know what is most convenient for you.
